"Which is Cuter: Baby Elephant vs Baby Hippos?"

To quantify their cuteness, they will be scored using their Unique Characteristics and Traits.

Baby Elephants are joyous!

Baby Elephants can be referred to as a calf, a male elephant as a bull and female elephant as a cow. They are the largest land animals in the world at birth a baby elephant can weigh around 91kg and stand at a meter tall!!!!

For the first four months of a baby elephants life they are completely reliant on their mothers, consuming nearly 20 pints a day. Consuming this much milk can mean they can gain 30 pounds a week due to it being incredibly rich (WOW!).

My favourite fact is that when baby Elephants throw tantrums they sometimes toss themselves into mud.

Also Elephants are in actual fact born BLIND and rely on their little trunks and their mummies for assistance. Also adding to their cuteness rating they are one of only a few four legged animals that can’t run.

Baby Hippos are Mirthful!

Hippos grow their babies for 8 months and only have one baby at a time. They are one of very few mammals which give birth underwater.  A baby hippo is also called a calf and they can weigh between 23 to 50kg.

They LOVE water thus the reason why the Greeks named them Hippos meaning “river horse”. They spend up to 16 hours a day submerged in water in order to stay cool. An amazing thing about hippos is that they make their own sunscreen which comes as a reddish sticky sweat.

They are very good swimmers and can hold their breath underwater for up to FIVE MINUTES!!!!On land a Hippo can run approximately 18- 30km/h on land which is mazing considering they’re huge, which is faster than a human – wouldn’t want to be running away from one of them.

This time because I like them both equally they are both WINNERS because they are both wee fatties! Bye!
